Get a Written QuoteYes. In Victoria, the electrical connection for any air conditioning unit must be done by a licensed electrician, and refrigerant handling requires a separate ARC licence. Sandy Electrical holds both — Electrical Contractor's Licence REC 27450 and ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence L182621 (ARC Tick). We handle the full installation. There's no need to coordinate a separate A/C mechanic when we supply the unit.
It depends on the room size, orientation, ceiling height, and insulation. As a rough guide: 2–3.5kW for a bedroom, 3.5–6kW for a living area. For whole-home ducted systems we install up to 18kW. We'll assess the space when we quote and recommend the right capacity.
Yes — we can install a unit you've sourced yourself. Just make sure it's a brand-new unit in the box with warranty intact, and let us know the model when you enquire.
Most single split installs take half a day. Ducted systems, or jobs requiring a new circuit, may take a full day or more depending on scope.
No. We install single split systems and ducted air conditioning up to 18kW. We don't currently install multi-head systems (one outdoor unit running several indoor heads) — if that's what you need, we'll tell you upfront rather than take on a job outside our scope.
